    Responsibilities

    *MUST HAVE PROVEN EXPERIENCE RUNNING A 24/7 OPERATION*

     

    Updike Distribution Logistics is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee our 24/7 facility located in Goodyear (303 and Indian School Rd). You must have proven 24/7 warehouse manaagement experience. This position will be working alongside our customer in a manufacturing plant responsible for a wide variety of warehouse activities including inbound/outbound loads, P&L oversight, inventory maintenance, safety training, and a sharp customer centric mindsight. In addition, the Warehouse Manager is included in the recruiting and hiring of warehouse personnel, labor planning, and workload allocation, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.

     

    Most of your day will be:

     

    To LEAD. We need someone who supports and connects to their team, creates a respectful and professional working environment, and inspires the team to work hard and care about their job.

    To act as a working manager, this is a hands-on job that will require you to work alongside the team. You must have a solid understanding of forklift operation.

    To maintain inventory accuracy - our customers rely on us to protect their product; from damage, loss/theft, and always work in a safe manner. Daily inventory is crucial.

    To establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service. We are in the business of not telling our customers no, we need employees to think creatively and outside-of-the-box to accommodate their requests and always be professional under any circumstances.

    To recommend measures to improve the quality of service, increase efficiency, and recommend cost-cutting measures.

    To work collaboratively with our transportation carriers, internal and external to meet customers expectations.

    To interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.

    To have a flexible schedule in order to accommodate our customers, this is a position that requires off hours commitment.

    Qualifications

    We'd love if you had prior experience in:

     

    Working in a 3PL environment (or warehouse)

    Maintaining a relentless focus on customer service

    Overseeing a team of warehouse professionals and CSR's (this job will have multiple direct reports - employees and temporary workers) - at least 7-10 years experience is preferred, but not required

    Inventory, cycle counting, working with data, and computer systems

    Prior P&L responsibility - understand the metrics and KPI's of what it takes for a warehouse facility to be successful

    Forklift use - this is a working manager position (all of our management level employees are expected to know and perform each role under them)

    Delegating work to teams and most of all prioritizing

    Establishing and maintaining customer relationships, this is key to ones success in our company

    Holding the team accountable to their actions (or inactions for that matter)

    Any type of continuous education after high school is strongly preferred, we want our people to never stop learning and growing

     

    This position will require after hour phone calls and weekend shifts on rotation. There will be 4 supervisors and upwards of 25 warehouse associates reporting into this position.
