Shop Foreman will be responsible for the creation of work orders, providing customer service to our driving associates and operations department, answer shop phone calls, assist in managing the daily shop work flow, parts inventory, direct reports including assistance in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, etc.
What will you do?
Provide customer service to driving associates and Operations
Create and review work orders, retain proper documentation on all repairs, scan needed items into system and update fleet maintenance program.
Assist in managing shop work flow to meet deadlines set by management and operations needs, this will include orchestrating outside repairs, a facilitating road service calls.
Assist in maintaining parts inventory, including performing regular cycle counts, and inventory events as needed
Achieve and maintain shop efficiency and productivity goals.
Assist technicians in diagnosing failures of tractors/trailers and disassembling, repairing and reassembling parts as necessary
Inspecting, testing and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld tools
Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostics tests, along with identifying worn and damaged parts needing repair or replacement
Will perform all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet tractors and trailers including diesel engine system diagnostics
Keep accurate and updated vehicle inspection reports and maintenance records
Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle repair requirements
Will maintain a clean and organized working environment
