    Responsibilities

    The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a maintenance and repair program for our fleet, managing our internal shop(s) and ensuring our fleet uptime is maximized while keeping our expenses controlled. They will provide supervision of all maintenance personnel and be directly responsible for all expenses related to maintaining the fleet. This position involves the planning, directing and coordination of all maintenance related activities.

     

    To be successful we will need you to:

     

    Oversee all maintenance and repair on all UDL equipment

     

    Manage internal shop(s), shop manager, shop technicians

     

    Manage all vender relationships including negotiating pricing, breakdowns, parts, tires and service

     

    Responsible to ensure the timely preventative maintenance of all equipment

     

    Responsible for managing Repair and Maintenance budget

     

    Responsible for all safety programs related to shop facilities


    Understand and manage warranty terms for existing and new incoming assets

     

    Work with Safety Department on accident/incident investigations of employee injuries and vehicular incidents

     

    Weekly reporting to management on all equipment repairs and shop activity

     

    Coordinate with safety department to assist in claims involving company assets

     

    Create procedures to systematically track inspections to ensure our assets are legal and safe on the road

     

    Must have extensive working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CSA2010, Hours of Service, CARB

     

    Must be a team-oriented, self-motivated individual willing to find solutions and make decisions

     

    Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation and Executive team

     

    Qualifications

    It will help if you have:

     

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required

    A minimum of 5 years experience in all facets of a transportation department

    A minimum of at least 2 years in a maintenance and/or safety supervisory role, preferably in both

    Extensive working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CSA2010, Hours of Service, CARB

    Be proficient with computers

    Strong leadership and management skills

    Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels regarding supervision, counseling and discipline

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions

    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization

    Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate work
