We are looking for a Director of Logistics/Brokerage to fill a newly created role within our organization. The Director of Logistics is responsible for the successful and efficient execution of Logistics and Brokerage Operations and provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership in all aspects of the Logistics division.
What will you do?
Develop and maintain a high performing team in the Logistics division: hire, support, lead, and manage team, individually and collectively. Provide training and guidance to team to develop market expertise in negotiating optimal profit margins
Manage and Direct the efforts of our Corporate Sales team and Market teams to achieve goals set forth
Provide flawless execution of Logistics services to our customer and assist as needed, participate in customer meetings and ensure compliance to all regulatory issues within the scope of service
Direct and supervise the scheduling of inbound/outbound shipments to ensure most economical utilization of carriers based on service parameters, interface with operations to resolve any problems associated with scheduling and dispatching
Ensure Logistics Department maintains expected or higher average gross margin, ensure incremental improvement that will meet our targets annually.
Ensure continual improvement with load count volume and maintain discipline with margins
Work directly with customers and drivers to arrange freight shipments, schedule transportation, resolve service issues, compile driver paperwork and secure profitable loads
Develop and implement innovative Logistics programs and initiatives that support the strategies that contribute to the company’s financial success by utilizing the proper tools, knowledge base, best practices and hands-on understanding of the business and functional areas
Develop and manage projects from concept to implementation that have high value impact on the overall success of the Logistics Division
What will help you land the job?
Bachelor’s degree required or a minimum of 7 years related experience
Minimum of 6 years 3PL, Brokerage or Freight Management experience
